- De ondergewaardeerde Bruynzeeldeur opgewaardeerd, article in Hervonden Stad 1999
Every year, Hervonden Stad, the yearbook for archaeology and architectural history in the city of Groningen Netherlands, comes out to inform the citizens of Groningen about the historical research that has been done in the city that year and to bring people up to date with the results.
The title of the yearbook translates as ‘a city found again’, which indicates that through the research the old historical city of Groningen is uncovered from the past.
De ondergewaardeerde Bruynzeeldeur opgewaardeerd is the article Maria wrote, in Dutch, for the Hervonden Stad 1999. It tells the story of the standardisation in sizes of doors, which started around 1920. Many of the standard door sizes first used in the 1920s are still in use today.
