Frequently Asked Questions
MORE STORIES OF TIME ZONES AND CONTAINERS
Why did you write this book?
After I had finished the Time Zones book, I realised that a large number of stories remained untold, mostly because they didn’t fit into the timeline of that book. Many of those untold stories turned out to be stand-alone anecdotes, which lent themselves really well to be bundled together in a book with short stories.
How long did it take you to write the book?
I started writing the stories in January 2011 and had them finished two months later. Then it took another 6 weeks for the editing and proofreading to be finished.
Why has this book only come out as ebook?
One of the reasons I published this book, was to bring more attention to the Time Zones book. Books in a series simply sell better and to be able to bring More Stories out as quickly as I could, I decided to only have it published as an ebook for now. If popular demand dictates the need for a paperback, I will take that into consideration and bring it out as paperback as well. (Update, this book has now become available as paperback as well.)
Isn’t it true that you can only get seasick once?
No, it is a myth that you only get seasick once on a ship. I have been seasick many times during my voyages on the different ships, but it probably depends on the person. Some people get seasick quicker than others. I am not really prone to it and after a while started to recognise the early symptoms of seasickness, which I was then able take away by taking a seasickness pill or simply by lying down on the couch. That said, even the early symptoms like a slight dizziness and headache, aren’t very nice, so I was always glad when we had nice weather and a smooth sea.
