At the moment, I am waiting to hear from a lady named Linda. Linda is reading the manuscript of my new book Ship Lag and she is going to tell me if it is ready (read good enough) for publication.

Quite a few people have already read my manuscript. Some have read the whole text, others just parts of it, but all of these people knew me when they read it. And although I told them to give me their opinions of the text as if they had never heard of me, they had, so they might still have been somewhat biased. I must add at this point that I really appreciate all the tips and comments my friends have given me about my new book, as without those, the book would never have gotten to where it is now – ready to be read by the first person who doesn’t know me.

Linda is a freelance editor and often works for a company called Authors Online. Authors Online are helping me publish the book and feeling I could only benefit from Linda’s expertise, I send my manuscript to her about a week ago. So that’s why I am rather nervously waiting to hear from Linda, hoping that it will not take too long anymore.

In the meantime I have made some changes to my website (the one you are reading this blog on), and started another website for my publishing company (FTK Publishing), which will publish the book in association with Authors Online. Nothing much to see on that site yet, but that should change in the next few weeks.

For now, I will end this post with a sneak preview of the cover of my new book. I would love to hear what you all think of it.

  1. Congrats on taking this next step with the manuscript – it can be really daunting to give your baby away for outside critiquing. Also loving the look of the site!

    • You’re right, Shanon. It is quite daunting to let Linda critique my work and I am keeping my fingers crossed that she’s not going to say I should change it completely…

  2. Like I told you already on Faebook; love the cover of your book. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you too. Don’t worry, she won’t let you change it completely. (I hope…………:) )

    greetings, Yvonne

  3. Like Yvonne I love the cover of your book. You managed to make static objects (containers) look dynamic. And as one of those who had the honor tho read the manuscript, I know that the same is true about the story. It’s about a long and slow journey, but you made every moment of it exciting!

    • Thank you for your kind words about the cover and manuscript, Ria. I hope that everyone who reads it, especially Linda, thinks about the book the same as you! :)

  4. Have you allready heard something from Linda? Just curious………..:)

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
